Greg McCarthy – Local

CEO Australia & New Zealand

With the CTM acquisition of the Sydney and Brisbane offices that formerly traded as Platinum Travel Corporation in 2018, original Platinum co-founder Greg McCarthy has taken on the role of CEO AU/NZ at CTM as of 1 July 2018.

Greg McCarthy has extensive experience in the travel industry, having commenced his career within the airline industry in the early 1980’s, progressing throughout the Corporate Travel industry, holding many senior leadership and executive positions. He founded two travel management companies in Australia, building them up from small operations to highly successful medium-sized businesses. Greg has worked for international airlines and held an executive directorship in a global TMC, achieving a strong track record delivering for customers.

Through his wide-spectrum of experience working in both global and local markets, Greg has a very strong focus on understanding what the customer wants and knows that understanding each individual customer’s needs is paramount to company success.

Andre Moten

COO Australia & New Zealand

Andre Moten is CTM’s Chief Operating Officer for Australia & New Zealand (AU/NZ). He has been with the company since 2001, holding numerous key roles including; Director of Sales & Marketing, General Manager for Queensland and General Manager for AU/NZ. Andre was also an Executive Director for CTM in its formative years between 2004 and 2010.

In his current role as the COO, he is responsible for the operations, account management and sales outcomes of CTM’s offices across AU/NZ. Andre also holds responsibility for the technology product and service support within the company and represents CTM on the Joint Steering Committee for the flybuys Travel brand.

Andre has over 25 years of significant managerial and business development experience in both the public and private sectors, with former positions including Director of the Queensland Olympic 2000 Task Force (Queensland Government) and Queensland Group Sales Manager for Ansett Australia. Andre also holds an MBA Degree, from the Australian Institute of Business.

Diane Sengupta

CFO Australia & New Zealand

Diane is an experienced professional accountant with over 20 years of varied industry experience across education, treasury, finance, radio, leisure and fitness.

Prior to joining CTM in January 2016, Diane had gained an extensive commercial accounting experience across her career in various financial management roles successfully leading highly engaged finance teams to deliver and support the operational and strategic financial goals of businesses. Since joining CTM, she has been instrumental in implementing the new ANZ loyalty line of business and two business acquisitions whilst assisting in supporting and growing the business TTV and EBITDA. Her primary strengths lie in leading highly engaged, performing finance teams, financial management and reporting, producing strategic and operational financial outcomes. She is a qualified accountant, holding a Bachelor of Business, QUT major in Accounting and is a member of the Certified Practicing Accountants Australia.

Andrea Joseph

Chief People Works Officer

Andrea is an experienced professional with a proven track record in developing successful solutions and delivering outcomes across all aspects of Human Resources.

A highly skilled leader and project manager, Andrea designed and delivered a Leadership Cultural Change initiative at Suncorp before joining CTM in 2012 to lead CTM’s people functions. As Chief People Works Officer, Andrea is responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining talent who deliver great customer service, and valuable innovative solutions for our clients. Andrea’s role also ensures global accountability in delivering CTM’s shared vision of on-demand flexible learning and high performance coaching to ensure continuous personnel development; such as CTM’s High Performance (HiPo) program. In addition to a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in HR and IR, Andrea is also an Accredited Level 2 Executive Coach. Andrea is also responsible, in AU/NZ, for HR, ICT, Health and Safety, and Facilities.

Timmo Rol

CTO Australia & New Zealand

Timmo Rol joined CTM in the role of Chief Technology Officer AU/NZ in early 2019 to drive the company’s technology innovation strategy from its Sydney-based Technology Hub. Timmo leads a team of 40+ technology experts to design and deploy market-leading travel technologies which drive customer value and enhance the traveller experience. In a career spanning nearly two decades, Timmo’s involvement in the global travel industry and diverse travel agency leadership experience has instilled unique technology insights and vision.

Timmo’s professional career began in the Netherlands as the manager for the largest brick-and-mortar travel agency store of Airtrade’s flagship OTA brand, after which he moved to Australia to continue this career in the sector. In this role, he was responsible for managing several travel agency retail branches before joining Booking.com in March 2013 to manage technology supplier relationships in APAC as Connectivity Partner Business Manager.

Most recent to joining CTM, Timmo was part of the team at Qantas building the Qantas Distribution Platform and operationalisation of the new Qantas Channel. In addition to his unique understanding of airlines and hotel distribution, as well as understanding the importance and practicality of corporate travel needs, Timmo is excited to be part of and inspire the best team of passionate people in the industry, to continue to deliver innovation at a global stage, here at CTM.

Peter Wiseman

General Manager Sales

Peter Wiseman joined CTM in the role of General Manager Sales in early 2013, responsible for the company’s sales strategy across the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Peter brings over 27 years of travel industry experience to the CTM leadership team, including 10 years with Ansett Australia and more than a decade in the corporate travel market.

His extensive experience in sales and account management spans Federal and State Government, universities, and both large and small to medium corporate organisations.

Peter is passionate about building a strong understanding of a client’s unique travel requirements, and tailoring technology and service-driven solutions to meet and exceed their travel objectives.

John Balloch

Head of Supplier Relations Australia & New Zealand

John has worked in the travel industry for more than 25 years, with various roles across leisure, wholesale and corporate travel before eventually progressing to CTM in his current role as Head of Supplier Relations. In this role, he is directly responsible for negotiating with our service providers to deliver creative innovative solutions for our customers.

Prior to joining CTM, John spent over 10 years working in both the UK and Asia in similar roles that allowed him to develop strong relationships with suppliers in airlines, hotels, car hire and other service providers across the globe. Outside of work he enjoys supporting the Manchester United Football Club and experiencing travel to unique locations such as the Everest Base Camp, Peru’s Machu Piccchu and the world-famous caves of Borneo.

Tracey Edwards

Event Travel Management - Global Strategic Lead and GM AU/NZ

Tracey has been with ETM since its inception in early 2011 and brings more than 30 years’ experience in the travel and event industry managing operations around the world, including three years living, establishing and growing an event business in China.

Over the past 8 years the ETM team, under Tracey’s leadership, has evolved from a localised specialist Sydney office to a global offering with more than 100 staff across the world, providing a range of expert event, meeting and group travel services. Tracey ensures the team are delivering event solutions that meet our clients’ diverse needs and are at the forefront of technological efficiency. These achievements have been recognised by the industry, including winning the AFTA award for ‘Best Business Events Travel Agency’ multiple times.

Glenn Wilcox

GM New South Wales

Glenn is a recognised leader in the corporate travel industry working with some of CTM’s largest multi-national customers. In early 2015, Glenn made the move east to take on the role of General Manager for CTM’s New South Wales operations following three years as the General Manager for Western Australia.

With his entire 20-year travel industry career based in Australia, Glenn is a resources and mining travel specialist who has experienced all facets of travel in the corporate sphere, the retail market and within a major airline. Glenn was awarded CTM’s staff member of the year at the 2011 CTM All-Stars awards and also recognised as a WA Business News 40under40 Award winner in 2015.

Glenn is a self-motivated, goal-driven individual with a keen sense for client management, strategic business planning, leadership and people development. Glenn is also a committee member of the Association of Travel Management Companies (ATMC).

Susan Connor

GM Victoria & Tasmania

Susan Connor joined CTM in 2011 as a Client Value Manager, and following her passion for client management, went on to manage many of CTM’s large strategic organisations. Susan was then promoted to Head of Client Management, holding that position for two years. She then took on the role of General Manager Victoria in July 2017 and General Manager Tasmania in March 2019.

Susan has over 26 years of experience in the travel industry, joining Qantas Airways in 1994, spending 15 years in a Sales and Account Management role, before progressing to manage large corporate organisations.

Her ongoing commitment to her customers earned her CTM’s National CVM Performer of the Year award in 2015. Susan is also highly regarded by her peers and clients alike, which earnt her a finalist position in the 2017 National Women in Travel awards – Corporate category and also a finalist position in the 2019 NTIA Awards for Best Travel Agency Manager – Corporate Single Location.

During her tenure at CTM, Susan has achieved excellent results in staff satisfaction and client retention and was instrumental in implementing large strategic Global and government accounts. She excels in client relationships and managing high performing teams, and her experience and leadership is a valuable asset to the CTM office.

Craig Southee

GM Queensland

Craig joined CTM as the Regional Client Value Manager – Queensland in 2014 and immediately began sharing innovative cost reduction strategies across the account management team. Craig has since joined the CTM Leadership Team as General Manager for Queensland after more than a decade experience in the QLD corporate travel market.

Prior to CTM, Craig worked in Corporate Sales with Qantas Airways managing a large portfolio of Queensland based, small to medium clients. Craig began an 11-year tenure with a large, global TMC where he held Account Management roles across both the corporate and Government sector. Craig demonstrated an exceptional flair across all facets of sales, advanced data analytics and business process improvement which earned him a role as Head of Consulting – Asia Pacific. Craig worked with many global and regional businesses providing advisory services.

Birgit Patenall

GM Western Australia

Birgit Patenall is the General Manager of Corporate Travel Management in Western Australia where she oversees operations, account management and sales.

Birgit is a senior travel management professional with more than 20 years’ experience in the sector. Her experience has been gained across a range of industries including mining, oil and gas, construction, universities, government, retail and corporate as well as domestic and international travel management.

Birgit’s work has been formally recognised with several industry awards, most recently winning the ‘Women in Travel Award – Corporate Category, 2017’, for her ‘invaluable contribution through leadership, innovation and courage to the industry’.

David McKellar

GM New Zealand

David joined CTM in 2013 as the General Manager for New Zealand as part of CTM’s first overseas acquisition the of well-known Cavalier Travel brand.

David has been in the travel industry for over 24, starting as a retail consultant in the UK before moving over to the fast-paced world of corporate travel. When he returned to New Zealand, David worked in the airline and GDS sector before moving back into the travel agency arena, in the IT & online booking tool side of a large corporate travel agency.

After working in the travel space for many years, David is a true believer in the value of customer service and teamwork, which has allowed him to build successful teams that have retained and grown business. Despite spending 16 years in the UK and now sounding English, David is still is a true blue Auckland rugby fan.

Jamie Pherous

Jamie Pherous founded Corporate Travel Management Limited (CTM) in Brisbane in 1994. He has built the Group from its headquarters in Brisbane to become one of the world’s largest travel management companies.

Prior to establishing CTM, Jamie Pherous was employed by Arthur Andersen, now Ernst & Young, as a qualified Chartered Accountant, specialising in business services and financial consulting, notably in Australia, Papua New Guinea and the United Arab Emirates.

 

Ewen Crouch AM

Chairman

Independent Non-Executive Director

Director since March 2019

Ewen Crouch was a Partner at Allens from 1988-2013. He served as a member of the firm’s board for 11 years, including four years as Chairman of Partners and was co-head mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets from 2004-2010. He was a director of Mission Australia from 1995, including as Chairman from 2009, until retiring in November 2016. He is a member of the Commonwealth Remuneration Tribunal and a director of Jawun and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He served as a member of the Takeovers Panel from 2010-2015. Ewen Crouch was appointed as Chairman on 25 March 2019.

 

Laura Ruffles

Laura Ruffles is CTM’s Global Chief Operating Officer and, in late 2015, was appointed an Executive Director in recognition of her leadership contribution. She has significant local, regional and global industry experience and, in a career of more than 20 years, has led teams across sales, account management, operations and technology. Laura Ruffles is responsible for all aspects of CTM’s business performance. She joined CTM in 2010 and has been a key contributor to its successful growth. She is also a Director of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents.

Greg Moynihan

Independent Non-Executive Director

Director since June 2010

Greg Moynihan is a former Chief Executive Officer of Metway Bank Limited. He has also held senior executive positions with Citibank Australia and Suncorp Metway. Since leaving Suncorp Metway in 2003, Greg Moynihan has focused on his commitments as a Non-Executive Company Director, as well as pursuing business interests in the investment management and private equity sectors.

Admiral Robert J. Natter, USN (Ret.)

Independent Non-Executive Director

Director since February 2014

Robert Natter retired from active military service in 2003 and now has over 15 years of experience in both the government and private sectors in the North American market. In his Navy career, Robert Natter served as the Commander of the U.S. Seventh Fleet operating throughout Asia and the Indian Ocean; Commander in Chief of the U.S Atlantic Fleet; and the first Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces, overseeing all Continental U.S. Navy bases, facilities and training operations.

 

Jamie Pherous

Sophie Mitchell

Independent Non-Executive Director

Director since September 2019

Sophie Mitchell has over 30 years of corporate advisory, capital markets and equity research experience. She retired from Morgans in June 2019 after over a decade as an Executive Director in Morgans Corporate and, prior to this, she was Morgans Head of Research.

Sophie now concentrates on her Board roles and is a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed Flagship Investments Limited, Silver Chef Limited and Apollo Tourism & Leisure Limited. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Morgans Holdings (Australia) Limited and the Morgans Foundation Limited, a Board member for the Australia Council for the Arts and a member of Australian Super’s Queensland Advisory Council. She was a member of the Australian Government Takeovers Panel between 2009 and 2018.

Neale O’Connell

Global Chief Financial Officer

Neale O’Connell joined CTM as Global CFO in July 2019, bringing a wealth of experience in listed company financial management built over a 25-year career. Neale spent 14 years at Tatts Group before departing in 2018 as Group CFO following the merger with Tabcorp. Neale has deep public company experience; he managed the major financial elements for the floats of Smorgon Steel and Tattersall’s and managed multinational projects as Finance Director for contracting and logistics supplier Delta Group. Neale is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Finance and Treasury Association.

Anne Tucker

Global Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary

Anne Tucker joined CTM in September 2019 as Global Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary. Anne is an experienced corporate lawyer and company secretary with extensive experience in corporate governance, regulatory engagement and merger and acquisition activity.

Anne has most recently been a consultant providing legal and related advisory services to clients in the gambling and entertainment sector. Anne has also held various legal and compliance roles over a 12 year period with Tatts Group Limited, including the position of General Counsel & Company Secretary, and prior to this worked as a lawyer in both private practice and government roles.

Anne holds both Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) qualifications, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance. Anne is a member of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Scott Ward

Global Head of Partnerships

Scott joined CTM’s Queensland office as the Head of Client Management in 2011 and quickly established himself as someone dedicated to delivering results that were both positive and provided a real impact.
This saw him join the General Manager Succession Plan after his first year with the business and move in to the GM role for Victoria in mid-2013.
In 2017 Scott moved into the role of Global Head of Partnerships. With a focus on technology-based innovation, this position is responsible for aligning efficiencies and optimising partnerships across CTM’s global business.
Before joining CTM, Scott held various roles in the travel industry including the Australian National Sales Manager for one of the largest travel technology companies globally. He has brought this technical knowledge of best-in-market processes to enhance the alignment of solutions offered to CTM’s clients.
With over 15 years’ worth of experience in the travel industry, Scott has an excellent overall understanding of the intricacies of travel and travel management and the most effective ways of applying these to achieve optimal outcomes.

Annabel Ausmus

Global Chief Marketing Officer

Annabel Ausmus is an experienced marketing and communications professional with more than 15 years’ experience managing digital and traditional marketing strategy and implementation in both B2B and B2C disciplines.

Annabel brings a wealth of travel industry marketing experience to CTM, having worked across corporate, leisure (luxury to budget brands), events, wholesale and loyalty travel for privately owned, listed entities and not for profit organisations.

During her time at Corporate Travel Management, Annabel has worked across global growth strategy and entry into the ASX, including a highly successful IPO and the acquisition and rebranding of a number of international companies.

Annabel holds a BA (Hons) degree in Journalism, is a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM), an Associate Member of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI), and sits on the AMI Industry Advisory Group.

Andrea Joseph

Chief People Works Officer

Andrea is an experienced professional with a proven track record in developing successful solutions and delivering outcomes across all aspects of Human Resources.

Paul Healy

Global Head of Information Systems and Security

Paul Healy joined CTM in 2008, firstly as the ANZ IT Manager, later moving to lead Group IT operations, before taking on a Global management role in May 2016. Over this period he has been responsible for ensuring CTM’s global computing, communications and security infrastructure has maintained pace with the company’s rapid growth. Paul is also responsible for coordinating CTM’s global cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, privacy and compliance programs, as well as managing CTM’s Business Intelligence and analytics platforms.
Paul is a highly experienced IT professional with over 15 years of IT management experience across various industries. He has led teams across various IT disciplines including infrastructure management, software development, ERP and support services.
Paul holds a Masters’ degree in Information Technology majoring in Enterprise Systems from QUT, and is certified in both Project Management and Business Analysis. He is an Associate Member of the Australian Computing Society.
